That has to be the core of her character.
Her role in society or level of accomplishment doesn’t matter. Even if she’s a damned candidate for the Supreme Court, the female always has a dual role: to function as a person, and to act as decor.

Genau aus diesem “Bedarf” heraus hatte ein besonders ekliger Programmierer die App “Girls around me” entwickelt, die anhand von Facebook-Profilen und Foursquare-Checkins dem User anzeigt welche Frauen sich in direkter Nähe befinden. Zwar wurde die App stark kritisiert, aber eben erstmal nur wegen der Verwendung der Daten. Das Hauptproblem liegt aber tiefer.
Most articles about Girls Around Me rightly call it “creepy” and engage in an important conversation about what data one makes public and how that information can be misused. The tenor of the reaction is that this kind of app is inevitable: a public Facebook profile + a public Four-Square check-in = Girls Around Me (as was tweeted to me).
But this equation misses a massively important variable: sexism. It is no coincidence the app is called Girls Around Me. The outcry has as much to do with sexual politics as it does about data and privacy. Meanwhile, articles have ignored the sexism inherent in the app and instead only talk about data and privacy.

Liebe Frauen – ihr wollt die Scheissquote. Wisst Ihr warum? Weil man einen Arbeitgeber anders nicht zwingen kann, solche Rahmenbedingungen zu schaffen. Wenn er aber seinen Mitarbeitern dies&das ermöglichen muss, schwupps schießen betriebliche Kitas aus dem Boden (kann man eh alles absetzen…) und schwupps ist es scheissegal ob Männlein oder Weiblein aufgrund familiärer Vermehrung gelegentlich zu Hause arbeiten oder ein paar Wochen zu Hause bleiben.
Womit hat diese Frauenquote noch zu tun? Mit Geld! Wenn die Frau auf einmal genug Geld verdient, stellt sich nicht mehr die Frage ob sie zu Hause bleiben darf, muss und soll. Das kann man unten (im Einkommensbereichen betrachtet) jedoch schwerlich – und die vielen qualifizierten und dann auch noch studierten Frauen, wo sind die eigentlich?
